Help with installing power to Amplifier through Firewall on 1989 Volvo 240 200

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased an AMP and sub to install on my 1989 Volvo 240 Sedan. To power the Amp I will have to run the power cable from the battery back to the trunk. I read some instructions on installing AMPs on www.crutchfield.com and it says you need to put it through a premade hole in the firewall or drill your own.

Does anyone know where there is a hole in the firewall already on my car or where I should drill one? I'm not exactly sure what the firewall is in my car either and how I should go about drilling one if nessecary. I was assuming the firewall was just the wall between the engine compartment and the interior of the front of the car.

Also if anyone has any tips or help on installing AMPs and Subs in Volvo's I'm sure it would be new to me.

All your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Trevor
