Tap and die 900

I just purchased 940 Wagon. Found massive transmission fluid leak around the drain hole. I think the transmission pan drain hole thread is damaged.

I read a faq on tap & die as a possible repair technique. Is this something that is easy to do? What is the OEM drain plug size, and what size do I need to tap with?
