240 1988 Odometer does not work.... how difficult is it to change out?

It is a fairly common problem. There is a small gear in the speedometer that fails. Several options: (1) find used replacement speedometer and install in gauge cluster (2) Purchase replacement gear and install in existing speedometer. Both options require that you remove the cluster from the dash- not a monumental task but I don't know what skill level you or a helper may have. The gear is avaiiable at: http://members.ispwest.com/jkcaplan/gearwebpage/gear.html

Good luck
Randy
