Distributor Rotor 200 1987

When I ordered a distributor for my 240 from IPD I got one that was for a smaller shaft size than the one I needed. It was a Bosch 04 170. Turns out that my car takes a # 04 138 that is for the bigger shaft. The ignition is not Chrysler. Everyone I have spoken with says that this distibutor( big shaft) is from an older model. I bought the car new in 1987 and the distibutor has never been changed.

All explanations will be appreciated.

BTW ,IPD guy said to order the rotor listed for the1983-1984 model years.
