headlights & dash light don't work 1997

The headlights & dashlights don't work on my 97 850. The first time this happened I fidled with the switch, moving it back and forth, and they stayed on. Now they don't work at all. The high beams will light when I pull & hold onto the lever. If this is a bad switch how do I get to it?
