Popping noises in speakers 700 1991

I'm getting an intermittent popping sound in my speakers. The time of day, temperature, what I'm doing at the time, speed or road conditions don't seem to be a factor for this to occur other than occasionally when I'm applying the brakes but not consistently enough for me to be suspicious that it is related directly to that. Has anyone out there had this problem and been able to have it diagnosed? Any leads are appreciated. Respond to bardav4836@yahoo.com or to the Brickboard please. Thanks!
