Cam Gear Steering Rack 200 1983

Fellas:
During my visit to the pick & pull yard, I came across a remanufactured cam gear rack. The yard wanted $30. I could not pass up on such a deal. Judging from the absence of build up crud on the rack, it is probably safe to assume that it was installed not too long ago. My question is: what is the proper way of installing this rack? I have not done this type of job and I would like to know details like if it is necessary to bleed the system, some tricks of the trade and the likes. Also, how do I know if my rack needs replacing? It's leaking a small amount of fluid now and after I replaced all the front end bushings, tie rods and ends, balljoints and struts not too long ago, I still have this faint clunk sound when I turn the wheel to almost the limit. Could that connected to a faulty rack? Thanks in advance.
