Died one rainy day, cranks but not even a hint of wanting to start. 700 1989

ONe day my wife was diriving along when all the sudden the cars power dropped off. She made her way towards the nearest freeway exit and the car stopped completely adn the dash lit up with every light on.

I get there and the car seems to crank no problem but no sign of starting not even a hint.

I got the car home (towed) and asked a neighbor who mentioned he had trouble with relays....I have now resolderd all the realys I could find in this 1989 740 turbo wagon. Still wont start.

I dont seem to be getting a spark and suspect the coil but from reading posts here I'm weary of spending $$ on parts I dont need to replace. Any suggestions?

Chilton book doesn't seem to help much.

Thanks in Advance!

Brent
