$ pit...ha! 900 1994

I guess I knew it when I was getting into this when I bought the car. I posted a Q a week or 2 ago thinking about putting a CD changer into a '94 964 (98k) I just picked up. Well, after $1400 in preventative maintenance (t-belt, tensioner, h2o pump, trans service, oil change, 2 bulb replacements, thermostat, and an enexpected need for 2 new hood hinges (PO had loosened bolts so hood would shut easily))(and no, no evidence on carfax or otherwise of the car ever being in any accident), I have 3 things I need to consider, and am looking for advice. I had the work done at Hubbard Woods Motors in the Chicago area, an ind. volvo shop that I do respect.
1. Front bushings are "worn". I cannot feel anything bad when driving, doesn't feel "loose"...can I wait on this a while, or is this something I need to fix immediately for safety reasons?
2. Slight oil leak from...you know where. About $550 to fix, should I just monitor oil levels often, or is this something I need to fix right away...can it give away big time in a hurry once there's a small leak?
3. Was going to install a CD changer, put after driving home from the shop yesterday, when playing a cassette, there were some loud noises from the stereo not on the tape...so loud it scared the crap out of me on the highway. It happened a few times on 2 different tapes before I gave up on it. The radio seems to be fine, and I do not get those loud "zaps" when just playing the radio. I know not to play any more cassettes, but has anyone ever had the same problem? I still eventually want to put a CD player in, but I'll probably yank the Volvo stereo and put in some other brand...does anyone think that there is some sort of electrical problem that the above-mentioned symptoms would affect a new CD system? Is the tape player just toast or is there some sort of electrical issue? I now it's a long shot that anyone knows what I'm talking about on this one, but it's worth a shot.
Thanks,
Nick
