IPD Transmission Flush Hose 900 1992

My 940's experience almost exactly duplicates "JetDriver". It took me about an hour to do it singlehanded, shutting off when the bubbles began to appear in the clear plastic hose, then adding about two quarts to the filler tube. It was 12qts of the Walmart Dexron before the fluid looked clean, so I did about six laps back and forth. I used 3/8 hose, and wiggled and pressed until it "threaded" onto the upper nipple from the rad. The fluid just dribbles out, there's no pressure to speak of. I drained and refilled the pan first to try to get at least some of the sediment out. Fluid was muddy-brown!

On the final fill, once you feel you have flushed adequately, fill only to the lowest mark on the stick, then warm the engine up and run through the gears. Fill again to the low mark if nec. and drive the car until full hot, and fill to the correct mark. As mentioned, the level is quite sensitive to trans temperature.

If you change frequently (30,000mi?) and don't have extreme (hot/cold/towing) conditions, ordinary ATF is good enough. If you want that little extra margin, go for the synthetic.
