Parts compatibility questions 700

Hello guys/gals,

Before pulling a few items from the bone yard and then finding out if they work maybe someone with a parts fiche could help me out. I am looking to pull a volvo hitch off of a 1987 volvo wagon. Will it fit a 1989 740 sedan?

Also, would it be easier to pull out a locking differenial with the entire rear axle and transplant or to just disassemble the differencial and get the locking mechanism out of a 1988 Turbo sedan and stuff that bit into the diff on my car (1989 740 GL - Automatic). Are the carriers compatible?
