ABS on the fritz?? 700 1988

Ladies and Gents,
I have an 88 744T m46 with 240k. I recently drove the car to New Orleans from NE Ohio and on the way down I noticed that the ABS started operating under normal breaking conditions. Specifically, right before the car actually comes to a complete halt is when I hear and feel the pedal do its song and dance. Thanks for your help.

By the way, my car which I practically stole from somebody for $300 took me and two friends to New Olreans and back without a hitch. In addition, I was please to get 28-29 mpg on the way down at 85mph which was a mpg figure I hadent seen in the car before. Also, right before I was supposed to go down I noticed a gas leak from underneath the car. What to do? Instead of patching or replacing the metal pipe that runs from the tank to the main pump I went to Lowes and pick up ten feet of soft copper tubing and molded a new piece and strapped it down. Seems to be ok so far but I was more than skeptical at first. Just a sidenote for those shady budget minded collegiate diy'ers

Jesse
