BE VERY CAREFUL!

I wouldn't touch it without a "Green", (genuine factory), Volvo Shop Manual to guide me. You are dealing with an explosive device which has killed small children!

The first step is to disconnect the battery. I also wouldn't try to make any electrical measurements of the "bag" using a multi-meter as the ohm measuring circuits produce electrical current which might set off the explosive gas generator.

That said, if you are careful and have the proper infomation/knowledge I'm sure you are as well qualified as many people who work on these things.
