remote locking part 2 700

The solution to getting everything hooked up electronically ended up being a brand new Bosch relay. Just what my Volvo always wanted and already has! So now when I press the button it will trigger the motor.... wrote down the setup and put it all back together. Problem now is how to attach the linkage to the doors main rod. I can barerly see anything inside this part of the door but it looks like there is a little piece of black plastic that the linkage could snap into but linkages rod isn't long enough. My linkages longer rod that attaches to the drivers door rod is flat at the end and has a hole in it. Am I perhaps missing a piece here? Any other good ways of getting things put together right? Thanks to everyone who has given me imput on this. Hopefully this is the last hurdle!
