headlamps will they fit/suspention 244 turbo verses 240DL 200 1985

My 2c: for the most light and least labor for the money, convert the existing outer (Hi/Lo) lamps to E-code H4's. You'll get the superior beam characteristics and brighter lighting on both high and low beam that way. Add a decent set of sealed-beam-Halogens (eg: Sylvania) on the inner, hi-only, lamps to the above and you will have plenty of long range lighting. I've got this setup on both kids' 240's and it "outbeams" every modern car I've driven.

Using relays in the circuit will make sure that you're getting full power to the lights, and also sidestep a frequent problem - the 240 has a marginal headlight switch and its death will be quickened by trying to feed powerful headlamps from it. IPD will sell you a pricey but very nice and timesaving relays-and-wiring kit. The small downside of relays on the headlights is that you will lose the functionality of the bulb-failure indicator on the low beams, but when one of those goes, it's pretty obvious...you don't need the warning light to tell you.

Check out Daniel Stern's website for a lot of good lighting info and he also sells the E-code lamps. (Google search on "Daniel Stern".)
