Could my alternator still run my 1990 760 V-6 if one of the 2 drive belts snapped?? Please help!! 700

Hey Guys!

I have question. One of my alternator belts on my alternator is frayed, and may go at anytime. 99% of my driving is hwy.Should this happen would the car still run ok on the other belt? My alternator has a dual groove pulley with 2 belts around it (how many amps?). I have new ones but i will not be able to install until another day or so. The weather has not been the greatest!! I mean would i lose power, stall out, ruin the bearings? What is the purpose for a dual pulley on this model? The car has 170,000 miles on it and is well cared for, please all suggestions/experiences are welcomed! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!
