REPOSTING - Inapplicable responses - 1992 740 Turbo electrical problem 700

I have a 1992 740 Turbo wagon. The roof opens just fine when I press the switch, but it doesn't close readily. When I push the switch, the roof starts to close, but after moving a few inches, it stops. From there, it will not close any further, but it will re-open from there without a problem, and again, and again, and again, when I go to close it it will only come forward a few inches. After what seems like thirty or forty atttempts to close the roof, and with me pulling on the front edge to help it get started, it will eventually close fully. Is this caused by a bad switch? A bad relay? If it is a bad relay, can anyone tell me how to identify it among those in the dashboard cluster?

Thanks

Tom
