Ignition failure when hot for B230K engine 200 1987

Sorry there are no electrical connections to the distributor on this car. The coil is a short stubby one incased in a metal square, unlike the longer cylindrical variety. I have tried swapping the coil and control box for a matching pair from a scrap car, but the problem is the same. Any other suggestions welcome!
