rear wheel bearing pack 444-544 1963

The 544 is rolling again thanks in part to you-all...have put about 220 miles on the engine and all seems well. I posted a coda to the non-functioning clutch saga; in short it was a faulty pressure plate, curious to know if others have had this problem with new Sachs units...and John I will be getting some photos up soon, turns out I hadn't actually taken any of the finished brake pedal setup.

But I'm writing now to ask whether anyone's got a clever way to repack rear wheel bearings without pulling the halfshaft. I'm tempted to put some grease in a syringe and see what I can do--unless this seems insufficient to those who have been there before. I've been getting a light grinding noise from the rear drums which I'm chalking up to the worn/glazed shoes. While dealing with that I noticed the bearings seem grease-free...may or may not be related to the noise but it's time to attend to it anyhow.

thanks-
Nathan
