240 electric window wiring break

I finally found the break in the wiring (at the door hinge) that caused my windows to quit. There is not much room in there to splice and I have 1 wire severed and 4 that are cracked open. My plan is to remove the door panel and remove the wiring harness from the switch. I am assuming I have to remove the cover under the steering column and get in there also. Anyone have any suggestions? Done this before?

Thanks in advance.............
