Studying for emissions test 700 1986

Hi,

I think I saw a previous thread about this, but I can't find it, sorry for the repeat posting. I have to do an emissions test on my 1986 745 tic, and I know it is going to be tight. 2 years ago it squeeked past, barely-hydrocarbons were right on the limit. This time I fear it may not pass.

I wonder what steps I could take to maximize my odds of passing the test. It is a dyno test, under accelleration for part of it. I have a tank of 94 octane fuel in the tank, and it contains 10% ethanol, which I think should help a little. I was thinking about disconecting the wastegate actuator rod from the wastegate so I get little or no boost while accellerating-but I'm not sure if this will help with the way the engine is managed. How about retarding or advancing base ignition timing? How about adjusting the throttle cable so It won't open all the way? Any other suggestions?

I do have a new O2 sensor which I will put in first (if I can get the old one out).
