heater valve for non-aircon car replacement 700

NOTE copy of post in 900 section, just though i might have more luck here...

let me say up fron this is the cable operated valve on the inside of the firewall NOT the vacume operated valve fitted to aircon cars....

I seem to have a leak fro m teh valve area (damp carpets etc & white crystal under the valve) but looing at it I cant work out how in the world to get it out...its a large black plastic affair with a quarter circle arc of movement...its mounted on a metal bracket that is bolted thru the fire wall...but the bracket also looks like it mounts the heater matrix and I really really dont think i wana mess with that unles i HAVE too... It could just be the seal on the lower internal pipe from the valve, but if it is I would still like to get the valve out and clean the neck up...

anyone ever pulled one of these????

PS...turbo return pipe still leaking oil & it just took me 2 straight days to replace the old alarm system....I could get to hate this car....
