temp guage problems again 200 1993

I replaced my temp guage compensation board (with a used unit)and it was working fine for about a month. Now my temp guage is all over the place and about 1/3 of the time it is not even coming on. I have read in others post that you can bypass the compesation board. How can I do this? I like to know what my engine is doing. Thanks.
