ceramic brake pads?

I need to do a brake job on my 91 940GLE w/ABS. Less dust, improved fade resistance and shorter stopping distances are atracting me towards ceramic brake pads. Im putting new pads and rotors up front and new pads in the rear; plus flushing out the old brake fluid w/Valvoline Synthetic brake fluid. Does anyone have any experience using whatever brand ceramics vs Mintex or Textar semi metalic pads? What about rotor life in conjuction with ceramic pads?

Does it make any difference to use ceramics only in the front and semimetalics in the rear?
