synthetic brake fluid trick for leaking rear main seal? Chris Hearbst 200 1988

A few months ago, I read a post by Chris Hearbst in which he gave a tip to a fellow brickster of adding synthetic brake fluid to the engine for a short time, to see if it would stop a rear main seal leak. It worked in that particular case. I can't find the post, anybody out there in volvo land remember the tip, or Chris, if you're reading this remind me how to do it.
Thanks a million.
