gray or green cap? 700

Now that my overflow tank is holding pressure and I have got some new hoses on the car and am not leaking anything at all anymore I have got another question! I have heard some of you say that the green overflow tank cap is better than the gray one. Is this true? What are the advantages of each cap if any? FCPgroton calls there cap the *upgraded* version. What do they mean by this?
