Timing Issue 200

Hey Charlie-

The line 'tween 10 and 20 is 15. Your timing mark should just about split the 15 mark and the 10. You can play around with it from there. Some people advance the timing a little on turbo motors, to lessen detonation at higher rpms. If the wastegate settings are stock and you don't rocket around like you rightly should in a Volvo, then the stock setting is fine.

If you have a vacuum advance on that distributor, I think you've got to disconnect it and plug the vacuum hose. Check a Haynes manual if there's one handy. Oh you've got a Bentley. Never mind. That's the right book. Wish they had one for the 7s and 8s.

Have fun-
Dylan
