For the voltmeter, yes, you just connect it to ground and power, but if you want the back light to work you need a connection somewhere to the dashboard lighting. Any circuit from the dimmer will work. I think they're brown wires... check them out. A tap-in connector will work ok for this.

The oil pressure gauge needs the sender that was on the turbo engine. All your engine has is a pressure switch. That won't do it. You need the correct sending unit to match the 3-bar or 5-bar gauge you've got. The two are different. If you can't go back and get the one from the turbo engine, try Ebay for gauges and parts, (search "Volvo 240") and try egauges.com as well. The dealer can probably get it for you as well.
