1990 740 turbo dies without warning. 700

I have a 1990 740 turbo wagon, 207,000 miles. The car stalls without warning under normal driving conditions. I have replaced the fuel pump relay ($54), RPM sensor ($125), ignition module ($125), supressor relay($54) and nothing worked. Today replaced the inline fuel filter ($20). It was clogged so bad, I could barely blow through it. That has to have been the problem. I will drive it and keep my fingers crossed. Look at the money. ........... It does seem to drive smoother with the filter. The manual said to replace the filter every 100,000 miles. Neil.
