HVAC on an '83....are there really two (cabin) thermostats? 200 1983

Yes, two separate thermostats - the A/C has a thermocouple line that runs from the rotary switch in the dash to one of the A/C tubes next to the evaporator (passenger side of dash.) The heater thermocouple runs from the heater control valve body into the side of the blower casing (driver's side.)

I agree with sdol, the fan/waterpump is much easier to work on/replace than getting to the blower motor. The blower motor is a real test of one's patience, and requires you to disassemble nearly the entire center console.
