ECU question 900 1995

940 Normally aspirated automatic

I got a 1-2-1 code as I've forgotten to plug the AMM back after removing the connector. After plugging it back, no matter how long I pressed on the button ( more than 10 seconds each press) the red LED did not light up to signal a reset.Usually after letting go of the button the LED will light up and I would press the button again to reset the ECU. The LED did not light up at all.
At the end I had to unplugged the battery and let the power drain reset the ECU.

Is there anything wrong with the ECU that gave rise to this situation or is it something else?

Thanks for the information in advance

Laozong
