Hello please help my baby start again,
Anyways I have a 1981 240 Volvo with a B21F engine, last June it started acting up slight back firing but very faint, sometimes it would hesitate to go when stoped at the lights, but for starting it seemed to be just fine no problems there. Then I decided to park it in August due to going to Collage (couldn't afford the insurance). She was started every now and then but the same problem over again. But just recentley in april when I wanted to get her all tuned up for May (that's when I planned to drive her again). I fired her up and about ten seconds later it just stoped, no hesitation, didn't try to gasp for gas, it sounded like you turned the key to the off position. When you tried to start her again it wouldn't start, it sounded like it was back fireing out of the intake hose from the filter. I thought that it was the timing belt but it's fine, even played around with the timing but nothing. It still did the back firing out of the intake hose. When I took the intake hose off of the filter chamber I noticed slugy oil in there I checked the dip stick and it was covered too, a friend of mine told me that it was water mixed with the oil. So I changed it but it was doing the same problem over again. Then I assumed that it was an electrical problem because I have a bit of a faulty engine harness. I found a broken wire on the cold start injector fixed it and when I tried to start her again the back firing seemed to stop unless it was a coincedence that it stoped. Now I don't know what to check next can someone please help me!!
P.S. Thank you for reading my story
