Bosch or Bendix???

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a 1990 model 740 with the Regina FI system (i.e., has one of those coils that looks like a little transformer mounted on driver's side strut tower) that also has a Bosch ECU? Mine has a Bosch ECU ending in 553, and there have been bad cold start problems the first winter i owned it. I'm wondering if a previous owner put in the wrong ECU -- a Bosch instead of a Bendix. Any help appreciated. thanks.
