Stain under car: What is it? 200

A couple of days ago, I found a stain on the garage floor. It did not seem to be an ordinary oil leak; although it was black and oily it did not soak into the concrete like oil would do. This substance was more gunk-like, in fact the five-ten drops were "standing" on the floor. Before parking the car I had been driving at highway speed for about half an hour. There has been only this one incident, no leaks before, and none in the last two-three days since.

What could this be? Perhaps a small oil leak at the top of the engine simply picked up dirt on its way to the floor. Alternatively, could this come from the (supposedly closed) PCV system? Last year I cleaned the flame trap and the two hoses attached to it. Are there anything else I should have cleaned?

Comments highly appreciated.

Erling.
