760 suspension investment 700 1988

I'm gonna drop some money into the suspension on my 88 760 w/IRS. I'm going with the Bilstein HD's, but with the remaining 450, I can either A) get new nivomats (I found them for $198 each, is that a good price) or get B) IPD's sway bar kit for IRS cars @ $450(!). I want my car to handle well. My question is: will my car respond to the sway bars if I don't have brand new nivomats on the rear? My nivomats still work, pumping up the rear suspension shortly after I start driving, but I don't imagine they work as well as new ones. Will the Bilsteins help with flatter cornering too?
