Thinking about buying a parts car - am I insane? 200

I need a sanity check ..

I'm thinking about buying a 1990 240 wagon with a smashed front end for parts for my 1993 wagon. I would salvage the cruise control, heated (power?) seats, swaybars perhaps if not damaged, odds and ends.

Is there a way to research the installed equipment through the VIN?

Disadvantages -
It's 450 miles from home
My wife might not speak to me for a while
Haven't lined up a place to keep it yet
Not sure how to dispose of the carcass
Plenty of other projects I'm putting off

Advantages -
I've done it before
Should be able to rent a vehicle with trailer to go get it
Have two possible places to keep it
May be able to get it for under $200

Am I crazy to consider this?
