jackstand positioning 200 1983

Greetings,

Have had a few 140s and 240s over the decades, you'd think I'd know the right answer by now. But there's an old saying, something to the effect of: "the more you know, the less you know"....

Where IS smartest/safest/least invasive location to position jackstands, both front and rear? I have two solid ones at the moment and will soon be in a "loaner" garage where there are two more so I could theoretically get the whole car up in the air, semi-pro. style. Some long overdue work, so much easier w/beast elevated.

My concern is really up at the front--knowing that these are unibody cars (plus were talking 'bout a wagon/estate here), I am realizing there may be better spots than I've used in the past.

If you could see the rusty "frame rails" that are starting to weaken on my mate's '91 Toyota, you'd understand my concern.

Want to avoid investing in ramps, may be sensible/useful but they're heavy and just take up more space in the attic (my "shop").

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers,

Frank
