740 Wagon Electric Sunroof Problem 700

If you remove the cover plate just above the inside rearview mirror on the ceiling in front of the sunroof, you will expose a large screw/nut that will operate you sunroof in absence of a working motor. I am thinking you might try the screw to see if the sunroof will operate manually. If it does, then you know the problem is in the motor, wiring, etc. My only hesitation might be that you would somehow damage the motor or cables by doing this. I think you would be okay, but someone else might offer more information. My 15 year old sunroof motor has never failed me, so I have never had the need to do this.
