Destroyed my control pressure regulator. 200 1982

When I had the check valve in backwards and the engine was cold the
thermal vacuum valve is open. If you make boost with a cold engine the
check valve usually protects the warmup regulator. A backwards valve meant
the boost pressurized my warmup regulator and blew a hole in the top of
it. It was a spot where it was sealed with a metal plug. Blew it right out
and then the sucker was leaking gas out the vent hose on top. Car still got
me home!
