problem found 444-544

Hello all,
thank you for your advice. The autopsy revealed that the timing gear was in good shape and that a bushing in the distributer self destructed. At my initial road side check everything looked ok, but by the time it had died the rotor carved up the cap with all the slop as the bushing went out. I was surprised as this distributer had only 70,000 miles since replacement.
Bosch is now making a new type with one piece points?! Still waiting for the part to arrive, anyone hear of this before?
-Erik
