Ignition Switch (Key) 200

Well, there's no interlock with the gear shifter on your 81. But that's not good news. The lock assembly is mounted to the steering column and includes a plunger that Dylan is hoping will be the reason you can't turn the key. I hope so too, because removing that lock is a bear. Bentley manual describes removing the column. Actually this is the only way I have experience doing it, in order to drill the security bolts and extract them. Must be some better junkyard techniques, but I haven't needed to try.

Now if only it was the switch that was hanging up. That is easy to pull off the back of the lock assembly after removing two slotted screws.
