FM radio in and out - AM fine - what gives ?? 900 1994

Hi
My FM is acting up. It will lose the stereo, and sound like it is muffled (sound somewhat garbled). After a while it will go out alltogether. If I tap on the tune knob, sometimes it will come back for a while.
AM is fine.

Seems to be the contacts inside. Is this something I can fix - maybe with tuner cleaner??
