'bulb failure' light on after installation of trailer towing harness 200 1993

Getting ready to tow a U-haul trailure up to the NE from Texas and have installed a used Drawtite hitch and now obtained the 5 wire to 4 wire towing electrical harness from U Haul. connected it up as per instructions
(1)left and right turn signals,
(2)left(driver's side) taillight,
(3) left(driver's side) brakelight
(4) a ground
Everything works OK except that the bulb failure light turns on whenever I step on the brake, even though both lights shine brightly. What to do?
Should I run an extra wire to the passengers side brakelight?
Or is it time for the black electrical tape over the bulb failure light?
gracias in advance.
