Fuel Pump Diagnosis 700

After replacing the Fuel sender along with a second hand Pre Pump in my 83 760 GLE Due to faulty Gauge which solved the problem, I now have a noisy main pump I have read that the main cause of this is a Pre Pump failure and hessitation etc under load Well this car has run very ordinary for quite some time now, I then swapped the main fuel pump with a second hand one I had and the noise is still there and it still Runs very ordinary stumbling etc What do I look at fixing or replacing now? The noise is coming from the main pump under the car and can be heard under the hood of the car as well, Couls this car have a fault with the accumulator under the car or Fuel Distributor?
All advise would be greatly appreciated.
