Rear caliper piston size? Does it matter? 900 1993

Well i need to replace a frozen rear driver's caliper on my 93 944T. Its got ATE brakes, non IRS car. I come to find that there are two types of these calipers...one with 38mm and another with 40mm in piston size. Anyone know how to tell (I can't see it on them). Anyone know what harm is done by putting the wrong one on? That said does anyone know the size tool i need to remove the brake line on it?

Is it reccommended to replace both calipers or just the bad one?
