sway bar link type of bushing and bar - does size and shape matter? 200 1989

Hi all!

Doing a front suspension on my 89 240 project car. I have a scan-tech set of link bars that I had saved for another car. Now is the time to use them. After close examination of the old link bar, it has a smaller hour glass shaped bushing (I have new hour glass shaped ones in a kit).

I see no difference in the length of the bar - but the bottom bushing is bigger, but stil matches up to the control arm. A few of the online parts catalogs show the new bigger bushing kit I have as being the proper fit for the 89 240 (has a picture of the scan-tech part).

Can't see how it would make a difference, but I wanted to check with the brickboard before I make final assembly!!
