Test values for voltage regulator 200 1982

Okay all,

The saga of my dead alternator continues. Took the alternator up to Canadian Tire (northern version of PepBoys or equivalent) and they tested my alternator. They say it passed all tests safe for it wasn't putting out enough voltage. I would conclude this to be a bad regulator then, but as I already have the unit out of the car, what would be the testing method and values for the regualtor? I would think it to be a simple resistance test. A new regulator is $35 CAD versus $190 CAD exhange on a rebuilt Bosch unit, so you all can understand what I am getting at here.

Happy Bricking!!!
