Fist is removing shift handel in nuetral gearing. Circling clip comes off the bottom and is yanking the chromed peece off. Clean clean clean all the rubber peeces with alchool and down in the tube get cleaan but not with drinkeing alchool D-natural or rubbeing alchool is cheap best for get grease. After when it is dried up clean good with soapy. Getting the idea clean clean. Smother the rubber bit and peeces in 3M weather strip adhesive, is used for holding rubber to metal, no? Smother down sides the clean inside tube with the adhesive too. Waiting til is dried glue you go make a samwitch. Then coating rubber peeces again with the 3M quick like put the chrome and stuffing back to gehther. You read directions like it say. Now crossing your fingers that knob read right of the way round when is back in transmission. smarter smartness make marking on chrome to what way is uppy with knob tight so can read R 1 2 3 4 gears of best ever design tranmission M40 M41.
