86 740 GLE A/C Cycling Question 700

I have a 86 740 GLE wagon that was converted to 134a before I purchased it a few years ago. The system blows relatively cool and is fully charged. I think it should be much cooler. I have noticed that the compressor (also new at time of change to 134) seems to cycle on and off about every 5 seconds. I'm thinking that the compressor isn't staying on long enough to cool things down properly. My 94 940 wagon's A/C works much better. Is there an A/C pressure switch on this car that should be changed when going from R12 to R134?
