Woo Woo!!! Electric trunk release installed... 200

Finally got up of me dead arse this weekend and put in one of the electric trunk releases I scrouged the other day. Wife thinks this is without a doubt the best "mod" I've done to the car. I wired it to a switched hot so the key has to be on for the release to cycle, for security reasons...

It took me less than an hour to install because I remember reading a post here by somebody who used the power antenna lead instead of running a wire - worked like a champ! Whoever had that idea please pipe up so recognition can be given...

If anybody has been wanting a remote trunk release, go for it. It's an easy install and offers instant gratification. If you grab one from a yard (or off that auction site) make sure you get the switch and the chunk of wiring harness that runs down through the trunklid as it has an additional wire and makes that part a plug-and-play.

Later...
